Teenage photo shoots

American contemporary portrait photographers have a knack for coming up with ‘snazzy’ titles for themed photo-shoots – one is of course the bridal based, ‘Trash The Dress’ sessions. These usually involve a post-ceremony shoot (usually after the couple return from honeymoon), where the bride again dons her wedding dress but this time poses amongst all manner of grimy, sometimes industrial or water based mayhem.

The second category I’ll mention is that of ‘Senior Photography’. US seniors are usually post-high school, pre-college teenagers who are living in that wondrous space somewhere between childhood and adulthood. This kind of got me thinking about a UK slant on this theme. With this in mind, I grabbed three of the teenage blighters and dragged them round this locale for a bit of an edgy, attitude laden photoshoot.

Professional photo shoot for teenagers

… is the (er-hum) snappy UK title I’ve chosen for this vibe. This could be a single portrait session or in this case, three guys- who together, very much look like a young rock band. Reece, Elliot and Otto were my victims subjects and this particular session spanned between 6pm and 9pm’ish on a chilly Spring evening recently.

The lads were great – we had a ‘good laugh’ actually and it was quite surprising that when it came to adopting the serious c-o-o-l poses and getting all attitude-ish, they dropped into character like pro-models (or maybe that’s just how teenagers are naturally?!? *laughs out loud*- oh dear..). Anyway, here’s some more images form this ‘Alternative Teen Portrait’ sesh – enjoy.
