‘From Little Sheds To Colourful Homes’ – That’s the tagline of new, funky chic homeware website, The Shed Inc. and brought to us, an interesting product photography shoot. Recently launched, and set up as a collaboration between ex-business executive, Vicky Brook and long-time friend and famous designer, Susan Schippel, ‘The Shed Inc’ offers a [very timely] patriotic slant to a mix ‘n match range of textiles, china and stationary. The duo’s shared love for flowers, colour and our four-legged canine friends also shines through.
Homeware Product Photography
Vicky contacted us a few weeks ago asking for a product photo-shoot for her initial season retail launch. Both Debz and I were enchanted not only to meet Vicky at her home with daughter’s Flo and Emily, but with the delightful products Vicky laid in front of us for photographing. Although we’d brought the usual armoury of flash and modifiers, we actually shot the whole product range using just glorious daylight reflected back into Vicky’s house and feathered across each item. Of course, we had some fun arranging everything from tea towels, oven gloves and mugs etc in a fashion that made them shine at their best. The Shed Inc aprons in fact were modelled by Debz, with a wide array of kitchen utensils and accoutrements being thrust into her hands for authenticity!
Not On The High Street
A day of post-processing followed, where I tried to carry on the ‘look’ and feel of Vicky’s super-patriotic and chic homeware into a cohesive set of images that would work together, not only on the Shed Inc retail site, but on Vicky’s other online partner, ‘Not On The High Street’.
Business & Charity
‘The Shed Inc’ is now active, vibrant and most-importantly, selling which is great news for not only those inspired by start up businesses getting it right from the off, but also for the two charities which Vicky supports, ‘Mind’ and ‘Maggies’. Via this fast growing new retail website then, attention is brought to, and contributions invited for customers to make a donation to these worthy charities, close to the hearts of both Vicky and Susan. With more and varied items to come in the mix ‘n match range of products from this talented business and creative team, it’s only a matter of time until millions of little sheds become very colourful homes.
