With my wife Debbie taking care of all things Marketing related here at Dakeyne Photography, it was about time she had a business headshot session done for all her Social and Business media networking. With a three light set up (ringlight directly in front, gridded flash hairlight and a rear wall speedlight ), Deb high tailed it from the hair salon (thanks Dan!), donned a suitable business outfit and off we went. I chose two final images, with some colour and black ‘n white variations, which you can see here – now then.. where do I send the bill?
Really nice, clean, business or personality headshot. It’s always important to strike the right balance between foreground and background and you’ve nailed it. I like the glow on the blue background. I would have put it a little lower, personally as I prefer a more subtle approach. It really helps separate the subject from the background. Same for the side kickers; gives depth to the shot. While I’ve always been a fan of the ring light, the only comment I might make is the reflection in her eyes make her look alien-like and the warm gel on the kicker is out of place considering the other colors in the shot.
It’s great that you and your wife work together. A great asset.
