Camranger Wireless iPad Tethered Photography System Review
The Camranger wireless system is not my first foray into the tethered world. The actual introduction to tethered shooting for my commercial and portfolio photography came late last summer. For some time, I was jonesing after the ability to display what was on the back of my camera’s small lcd monitor, not only to get a bigger, zoomable

Donna Summer Inspired ‘I Feel Love’ Disco Photoshoot
‘I Feel Love’ by Donna Summer is undoubtably the most influential electronic disco record ever made. Written by pioneering German record producer Giorgio Moroder and Pete Bellotte, the piece sounds as fresh and innovative today as it did back in 1977. Being of that time, there exists no

Audi R8 & Model Photoshoot with Photoshop ReTouch Video
I’ve wanted to do Photoshop CS6 retouch video for a while now. Every time I’ve come to the end of working on a portfolio image recently, I’d wished I had recorded the whole session as a high speed video screencast – so now I have. In advance of uploading all images from the shoot involved, this blog and the retouch video, concentrates on just one image, with two variants.

Realistic HDR Composite Portrait Photography
High dynamic range photography is of course a now well established field for photographers wishing to explore the exposure range limitations of a single image capture. Again, it’s common knowledge of how taking (for example) five images at different exposures (lighter to darker) and combining them in

Music Photography with Top Artist Ollie Green
Ollie Green, huh – This young guy’s gonna be urban pop music’s next big thing for sure. I first met this remarkably modest yet uber-talented artist/producer at a music industry coaching day in Leeds. Paraded in front of a ‘speed-dating’ style music demo session at Leeds College of Music, Ollie presented himself and his music to the team of industry experts and he instantly became the one-to-watch. We kept in touch via

Kids Fun Photoshoot
It’s not the sort of portrait shoot we get asked to do everyday, but for special friends with special kids, we’re happy to oblige. Mum and Dad of twins Grace and Luke, plus eldest son Aaron, invited us to their lovely Cambridgeshire home to grab some fun photos of the little mites. We had barely an hour of warm, Autumnal sunshine to take the trio to a local park and try and catch them at play, causing mayhem and striking the occasional pose for the camera.

Teenage photo shoots
American contemporary portrait photographers have a knack for coming up with ‘snazzy’ titles for themed photo-shoots – one is of course the bridal based, ‘Trash The Dress’ sessions. These usually involve a post-ceremony shoot (usually after the couple return from honeymoon), where the bride again dons her wedding dress but this time poses amongst all manner of grimy, sometimes industrial or water based mayhem.

Keeley & Scott Engagement Photoshoot
We first met Scott when he was working as a cameraman and ‘craft’ editor for the local BBC. At the same time, and working in the same building as Scott, was the lovely Keeley (who was working on a news desk compiling video and audio footage if my memory serves me well). As time passed, romance blossomed between them and developed to this beautiful couple now being engaged.
Unsigned Bands At Leeds 360 Club Photographs
The 360 Club in Leeds is currently held at The Library, close to the City’s University and hosts new and unsigned bands. ’360′ is the brainchild of promoter and music industry mentor, Richard Watson. Dan Bryan – Singer, Actor, Fashionista Photoshoot
You’d never think anyone could carry off such a broad range of talents but Dan Bryan aint no ordinary guy. Daniel rose to fame, notoriety and dodged paparazzi pressure back in 2005 after he came in the top three of that years Channel 4, Big Brother [5] show. He only went on it to raise profile for his electro-pop band ‘IceHouse Project‘, but ended up being in what is probably the nations top ten of ‘housemates’ after the majority of the UK clicked with his straight talking, no ‘BS sweedie’ kick backs.

Jaguar Jones Band Photography
The recent Chester shoot presented an added bonus, doubly appealing to my musical side in the process. Whilst waiting for one of our vintage wedding brides to make her night-time balcony appearance, three members of local band Jaguar Jones made themselves victims of my Nikon camera. With a beautiful summers evening sky fading fast, I
